On Wednesday, Bleacher Report's official Facebook page was liked by more than 1,000,000 (unfortunately mostly real?) Facebook users.
And then, all dweeby hell broke loose.
The milestone gave way to a champagne celebration that was, at its worst, an ambiguously racist fantasy about being the haves of the sports media space. At its best, it was just blatantly ostentatious and dorky.
Bleacher Report's Social Media Staff was kind enough to provide us with a few more details regarding how much money might have been spent here. No exact dollar figure was given, but the festivities called for tarp and 200 bottles of champagne.
While B/R made sure to state that the champagne was "cheap," they decided to forgo any mention of the tarp alone costing more than half of the site's writing staff.
